Admissions Policies

Statement of Non-Discrimination
Queen of the Rosary School is operated under the auspices of the Catholic Bishop of Chicago, a Corporation Sole, in the Archdiocese of Chicago and admits students of any race, color, sex, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at Queen of the Rosary School. The names of all elementary and secondary schools can be found in The Official Catholic Directory published annually by P. J. Kennedy and Sons, New York, the official Directory of the Archdiocese of Chicago, and Archdiocesan Office of Education School Directory.

These schools do not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, color, or national and ethnic origin in administration of educational policies, admission policies, loan programs, athletic, or other school administered programs. (AP3111.1)

Registration Requirements
New students (Pre-school, Kindergarten)
    1. Official copy of birth certificate
    2. Baptismal certificate (if applicable)
    3. Registration fee
    4. The child/ren must be toilet trained
Transfer students
    1. Same as above (1 - 4)
    2. Record of compliance with local and State of Illinois health requirements
    3. Notification (written or oral) from the school previously attended
    4. Interview with the Principal

Registration may be taken conditionally in the event that there are outstanding financial obligations to another school or there is a question of a student being in some type of special education program which Queen of the Rosary School is not equipped to provide. This also applies to students with serious discipline problems.

Age Requirements
Queen of the Rosary School observes the Illinois State Law which states that a Kindergartner (First Grader) must be five (six) years old on or before September 1st of the current year in order to be eligible for admission.

The same applies for admission to the Pre-school, i.e. the child must be three or four by September 1st of the current year.
