Grades 3, 4, 5 Programs

The Grade 3 Program at Queen of the Rosary Parish presents the main truths which Catholics believe and express in the Apostle’s Creed.  Key objectives* are:

  • to grow in the power to make decisions in the light of God’s Revelation and the redemptive acts of Jesus
  • to come to a knowledge and an appreciation of the mysteries of our Catholic Faith expressed in the Apostle’s Creed
  • to realize God’s calling to each of us to be holy and faith-filled people
  • to grow in holiness through the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist

Students use the Christ Our Life – We Believe-The Catholic Faith text to learn about key truths of our Catholic Faith.

The Grade 4 Program at Queen of the Rosary Parish focuses on the Ten Commandments and the Beatitudes as guides for Christian living.  Key objectives* are:

  • to grow in understanding and appreciation of God’s call to eternal life
  • to become more aware of God’s ever-present and loving guidance
  • to choose to live the Ten Commandments in the spirit of the Beatitudes
  • to grow in holiness through the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist

Grade 4 students use the Christ Our Life – God Guides Us-The Ten Commandments and the Beatitudes text to learn about God’s commands and their impact in our Christian lives.

The Grade 5 Program at Queen of the Rosary Parish focuses on the sacraments, especially the Eucharist, the source and summit of the Christian life.  Key objectives* are:

  • to grow in appreciation of the Church as a worshiping community
  • to become more aware of Christ’s action among us in the Eucharistic liturgy and in the sacraments
  • to give worship to God by prayer, loving service, and celebrating the liturgical seasons
  • to grow in holiness through the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist

Grade 5 students use the Christ Our Life – We Worship-The Liturgy of the Mass text to learn about the sacraments and our praise and worship of God.

The Grades 3, 4, 5 Programs include the following components:

  • Parent Orientation Meeting
  • Classroom sessions
  • Teaching Mass
  • Sacrament of Reconciliation
  • Prayer services
  • Parent Support Sessions

All Programs consist of 22 sessions which run from September through April of each year.  Sessions are held in the school or church facilities on Saturday mornings, from 9:00am to 10:30am.  Each Schedule of Sessions is shown below:
