Grades 6 & 7 Programs

The Grades 6 & 7 Programs at Queen of the Rosary Parish are devoted to the study of God’s saving love as it is revealed through His son, Jesus.  The focus is on Jesus: the Way, the Truth, and the Life.  Key objectives* are:

  • to grow in knowledge and love of Jesus through prayer and studying the Gospels
  • to appreciate that the sacraments enable us to respond to the call to follow Jesus
  • to realize that sacramental grace helps us to live by Jesus’ teachings and proclaim God’s kingdom
  • to proclaim God’s Kingdom in word, worship, witness, and service
  • to grow in holiness through the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist

Students use the Christ Our Life – Jesus the Way, the Truth, and the Life text to learn about true discipleship and following Jesus.  Included in the Program are special events such as a Teaching Mass, Sacrament of Reconciliation, prayer services, inspirational speakers, special presentations, and opportunities for service projects and parish events.  An important aspect of the Grades 6 & 7 Programs is parent participation in key presentations and events.  Also, the middle school youth ministry program, called EDGE, is a new and exciting component of the Programs.

The Grades 6 & 7 Programs include the following components:

  • Orientation Meeting
  • Teaching Mass
  • Sacrament of Reconciliation
  • Special presentations
  • Prayer services
  • Classroom sessions
  • EDGE nights
  • Christian Chastity
  • Service projects

The Programs consist of 18 sessions which run from September through March of each year.  Sessions are held in the school or church facilities on Tuesday evenings, from 7:00pm to 8:30pm. Each Schedule of Sessions is shown below:
