Grade 7 Program

The Grade 7 Program at Queen of the Rosary Parish is devoted to the study of the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church.  Key objectives are:

  • to deepen our personal relationship with Jesus Christ through prayer and the sacraments
  • to grow in knowledge and love of Jesus and His Church
  • to proclaim God’s Kingdom in word, worship, witness, and service
  • to grow in holiness through the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist

Students receive the YOUCAT Youth Catechism and use the YOUCAT Study Guide by Ignatius Press to learn about Jesus and the Church in order to follow Him as a young disciple.  An important aspect of the Grade 7 Program is parent participation in key presentations and events.

The Grade 7 Program includes the following components:

  • Orientation Meeting
  • Teaching Mass
  • Sacrament of Reconciliation
  • Special Presentations
  • Family Prayer Services
  • Classroom Sessions
  • Christian Chastity
  • DVD Nights

The Program consists of 24 sessions which run from September through April of each year.  Sessions are held in the school or church facilities on Tuesday evenings, from 7:00pm to 8:30pm. The Schedule of Sessions is shown below:
